A field opens and the answer is there in milliseconds, with no AI call. More than one likely answer? Each gets its own row and a % for how sure TypePilot is.

The % is match × trust. Match is how well a fact fits the field's question. Trust grows each time you use an answer and drops when you dismiss it. Anything under 55% stays hidden.

    Safe with payment apps

    Banking apps never see it.

    Many UPI, banking and trading apps refuse to run while an accessibility app is on. Mark them Hidden (they're detected and listed first) and TypePilot switches its accessibility service fully off while they're open, then back on a few seconds after you leave.

    Private by design

    Your memory stays on your phone.

    • Never reads password fields, or fields labelled PIN, OTP, CVV, card, Aadhaar, PAN and similar.
    • Never learns OTPs, card numbers, keys or ID numbers.
    • Memory and stats stay on the phone. Only the text a cloud model needs leaves it, and only if you chose one.
    • API keys are encrypted with an Android Keystore key and never leave the phone, not even in backups.

    What a cloud model gets

    Use my card 4111 1111 1111 1111 for the deposit, and my PAN is ABCDE1234F.

    Card numbers, keys, IBAN, Aadhaar, PAN and SSN are removed first. On-device models and memory answers never go online at all.

    1. 01 Download and open TypePilot.apk

      Allow your browser to install apps. If Play Protect warns about an unknown developer: More details → Install anyway.

    2. 02 Turn it on in Accessibility

      Open TypePilot, then Home → Setup and switch on TypePilot AI suggestions. Greyed out? App info → ⋮ → Allow restricted settings.

    3. 03 Allow background running

      So your phone doesn't stop it: the setup card's Set up button.

    4. 04 Connect an AI model

      Settings → AI: a free Gemini key, Groq, Ollama or an on-device model. Memory answers work without one.

    5. 05 Tap any text field

      In any app. The ✦ tab slides in and answers appear as the keyboard opens.

    Vivo / iQOO, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung and others stop background apps. Keep it running lists the one extra switch your phone needs.

    Good to know.

    Is it free?

    Yes. TypePilot is open source under MIT. It runs on free AI tiers (Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter), Ollama on your computer, on-device models, or no AI at all.

    Why does it need Accessibility?

    It's how an app can see which field is focused, show answers above it and insert the one you pick, in every app. It never reads password, OTP, PIN or card fields, and it shows Google Play's prominent disclosure before you turn it on.

    Does it work with my keyboard?

    Yes: Gboard, SwiftKey, Samsung Keyboard and others. There's also an optional TypePilot keyboard for phones where accessibility apps are blocked.

    Will my UPI or banking app complain?

    Mark it Hidden. TypePilot switches its accessibility service fully off while that app is open and back on a few seconds after you leave. This needs Usage access and one adb command, once.

    What leaves my phone?

    Only the text a cloud model needs, only when you choose a cloud model, and with card numbers, keys, IBAN, Aadhaar, PAN and SSN removed first. Memory answers and on-device models never go online.

    My phone keeps stopping it.

    Vivo / iQOO, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung and others kill background apps. Allow background running in the setup card; the guide on GitHub lists the one extra switch your phone needs.

    Is there an iPhone version?

    No. iOS doesn't let an app read or fill fields in other apps. There is a Mac app, built from source for now.
